Mogul
‘Mogul’ will be based on the life of Gulshan Kumar. He was the founder of ‘T-Series’ and the one who changed the face of the Indian music industry starting in the 1980s. The role of Gulshan Kumar will be played by none other than the Khiladi Akshay Kumar. The biopic will depict the story of Gulshan from rags to riches and till the time he was shot dead in Bombay in 1197 outside a temple. Subhash Kapoor is going to direct the movie who was also the one who directed ‘Jolly LLB 2’ that starred Akshay Kumar.
Super 30
‘Super 30’ is the biopic of the mathematical wizard Anand Kumar. We are going to see Hrithik Roshan playing the role of the mathematician. This mathematical wizard is the founder of the initiative Super 30. Anand selects 30 talented candidates every year from economically backward sections of society and teaches them for the IIT-JEE entrance exam. The movie will focus on the life struggles of Anand’s life and how he started the ‘Super 30’ coaching programme. When asked, the mathematician said that he is sure that Hrithik Roshan will encapsulate the spirit of his character perfectly even though he doesn’t resemble his looks.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
As interesting as it names sound, this movie is the biopic of the most interesting person in the history – Rani Laxmibai. Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi was one of the bravest leaders of the very first Indian war of Independence in 1857. ‘Manikarnika’ is written by the writer of some of the blockbusters movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali- K.V. Vijayendra Prasad. We are going to see the talented Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Rani Laxmibai in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. The filmmakers are aiming to release the biopic in August 2018. We can surely expect the movie to break records at the box office.
The Accidental Prime Minister
This is going to be one of the most awaited upcoming biopics of Bollywood in 2018. The movie will be based on Manmohan Singh, the former Indian Prime Minister. We are going to see Anupam Kher playing the role of the President. We saw the first look of the movie back on June 7, 2017, on Twitter. Anupam Kher was the one who posted it and he undoubtedly nailed it. The film is based on Sanjaya Baru’s book with the same title and the screenplay is well written by Hansal Mehta the National Award-winning filmmaker.
Manto
The movie is based on the Indo-Pakistani writer and author Saadat Hasan Manto. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen playing the role of Saadat Hasan Manto. Apart from him, the movie also features Rasika Dugal as Manto’s wife, Shyam Chadda as Manto’s friend, Rajshri Deshpande as Ismat Chughtai. Manto was the best-known author and short story writer of his time and also the most controversial and best-known from South Asia.
Saina Nehwal biopic
Who doesn’t know Saina Nehwal? Well, if you don’t then there is a biopic coming soon on the badminton player Saina Nehwal that will feature the newbie actress Shraddha Kapoor as Saina. Shraddha wants to get into the skin of the character and she has been getting training from Pullela Gopichand, a former badminton player for more than two months now. Amol Gupte, the director of the film has put it on hold till Shraddha Kapoor looks convincing on the screen by perfecting her game. The movie is going to be released this year and we can expect it to be a good watch.
Jhalki
‘Jhalki’ will be the biopic of Kailash Satyarthi and we are going to see actor Boman Irani playing the role of Kailash. He has fought to protect the rights of more than 85,000 kids from approximately 144 countries and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. The movie revolves around the life of Kailash Satyarthi and a girl who is searching for her brother who goes missing while he was working as a child labor.
Abhinav Bindra Biopic
This is one of the biopics on the Indian Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra. Son of Anil Kapoor, Harshvardhan Kapoor has signed his 3rd film. He was also the one who debuted in ‘Mirzya’ of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra released in 2016. Harshwardhan is going to play the role of Abhinav Bindra, the only Indian to have held the Olympic and the World both at the same time. He won the first gold medal at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships and the second in Beijing at the 2008 Olympic Games. The movie will be based on his autobiography, ‘A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold.‘
Paresh Rawal as Narendra Modi in PM Narendra Modi’s Biopic
Paresh Rawal is a Gujarati and also the BJP MP in Gujarat. He is a perfect choice to play the on-screen Narendra Modi. He has played a real-life character recently in Sanju. He was playing the character of the legendary actor Sunil Dutt in reel life and he nailed that character with perfection.
